Parul Kapur

Patent Agent

Parul Kapur is a Patent Agent at Shay Glenn LLP where she focuses on patent prosecution, patent application drafting and IP due diligence investigations including freedom to operate and invalidity analyses. Parul has a special emphasis in the areas of biomedical engineering and electrical engineering.

Prior to joining Shay Glenn LLP, she served as a Patent Agent at McDonnell Boehnen Hulbert & Berghoff LLP, where she conducted legal research, prepared and prosecuted patent applications, and provided technological advice in support of validity, infringement and patentability analyses, and litigation matters in the areas of electrical engineering and biomedical engineering.

Prior to joining MBHB, she served as a research assistant at Lifespan Health Research Center and Institute of Rehabilitation and Research in Kettering, Ohio, where she worked on projects including an evaluation of biomedical x-ray absorptiometry scanning devices for body composition measurement and osteoporosis, a design of cardiorespiratory fitness protocols, and a study involving electrical stimulation devices.

Parul Kapur received her J.D. from John Marshall Law School. She has a Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University and a Bachelors of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Wright State University. She is a recipient of the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship and Purdue University Graduate Research Fellowship. She is also registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Further, Parul Kapur has an Advanced Communicator Distinction from Toastmasters International, a public speaking group. She is registered to practice before the U. S. Patent and Trademark Office.
