Frances Ippolito

Frances Ippolito is an associate at Shay Glenn LLP, where her practice covers all aspects of intellectual property rights, including trademarks, copyright, and patent protection, with a focus on patent prosecution and IP due diligence investigations. Frances has relevant experience in clean technology, food processing and packaging, pharmaceutical, chemical, and medical device areas including polymer implants, controlled/sustained release pharmaceutical formulations, microfluidic drug delivery systems, and cardiovascular assist devices.

Prior to joining Shay Glenn LLP, Frances was a patent attorney at Knobbe Martens LLP where her practice focused on intellectual property procurement, pre-litigation investigations, and infringement litigation.  While attending law school, Frances externed for Judge Urbina of the U.S. District Court, District of Columbia, Judge Karlton of the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of California, and the Office of Unfair Import Investigations for the United States International Trade Commission (Section 337 Investigation Division of the ITC).

Frances earned her JD from the University of California, Davis School of Law, an A.B. in Chemistry from Harvard University, and a teaching certification from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Frances is admitted to practice in California and registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
